Eurofarma enters the specialized nutrition market in Mexico in partnership with Nutricia
The agreement with the Danone division, one of the global leaders in the sector, grants exclusivity in the commercialization of the brand’s products
Eurofarma has signed an exclusive commercialization agreement with Nutricia in Mexico, becoming the exclusive distributor of a strategic portfolio from Danone’s specialized nutrition division, which is present in more than 100 markets worldwide.
The agreement includes the distribution of nine well-established products in the Mexican market from Nutricia’s portfolio — a global reference in this segment — including brands such as Neocate, Fortini, Infatrini, Ketocal, Nutrilon Pepti and Nutrilon. Developed on a strong scientific foundation, these products expand the range of foods and beverages for people with specific nutritional needs and will be promoted by Eurofarma, focusing on Pediatrics and specialties such as gastroenterology, endocrinology and neurology.
“This partnership marks Eurofarma’s entry into the specialized nutrition segment, opening doors to new markets and expanding our presence in Mexico. We will boost the distribution of nutritional products supported by cutting-edge scientific research, providing solutions that help people live longer, happier and healthier lives, in synergy with our current portfolio,” says Marcela Sabaini, General Manager of Eurofarma Mexico.
“The high quality and safety standards of these products are crucial, as they provide essential support for people in vulnerable situations and, in some cases, are the only source of nutrition for certain infants,” she adds.
The global specialized nutrition market is highly strategic and was valued at USD 110 billion in 2025, according to Persistence Market Research. It is projected to grow at an annual rate of 8%, surpassing USD 150 billion by 2030.
In Mexico, the segment faces significant challenges, such as rising childhood obesity and overweight rates, which have nearly doubled over the past two decades. It is projected that more than half of children will be overweight or obese by 2035, driving families to seek healthier nutritional solutions.
The specialized nutrition market in Mexico generated approximately USD 2.364 billion in 2024 and is expected to reach USD 3.459 billion by 2030, with a compound annual growth rate between 5.5% and 6.6%, according to Grand View Research.¹
